Our Story...

We love to travel, love to find adventures, and love to cook. We have always told the stories to our friends and families, sporadically when we had time and remembered everything. But now have decided to share our full stories with everyone, at any time, and hence the creation of this site. We are big fans of a few British cooking/travelogue TV shows and have been inspired by a few of our favorites, and took the idea to not just showcase our travels and the fun stories that came from them, but to also bring back and make the recipes for all the amazing things we’ve tried. And while we are always looking forward to new travels, there are adventures to be found and shared in daily life as well. Our site will continue to grow and expand these ideas as we go along and figure out our space on the web.

If you want to follow our stories from the beginning, start here at the First Page.

On the Archive Page you will find an archive list of our posts, so you can search out a specific one, or look at all within your favorite category!

Who We Are...

Dennis

IMG_3447.JPG

Adventurous, passionate, curious – Dennis found his home not in a place but in movement and the ongoing discovery of places new and familiar.  He is passionate about inspired cooking, unique and diverse music, and finding what lies around the next corner.  He explores his artistic side through photography and culinary endeavors, and plays a multitude of instruments – though no one accused him of playing them well!  He is a writer of stories and experiences, and an unashamed supporter of the Oxford Comma.  He provides the practical foundation and business knowledge to build the artistic endeavors in their lives, and he actually plays in Excel for fun.  His favorites: figs, good coffee, Indian food, savory snacks, gouda cheese, fresh picked tomatoes and a good strong stout.

Elizabeth

Beautiful, creative, instantly lovable – Elizabeth is a uniquely genuine person and a pure artist though and through.  She focuses on the simple beauty in everyday things, often noticing the smallest features most overlook.  A skilled metalsmith and jeweler, she finds inspiration throughout the world to capture for her own handmade pieces.  On travels she will be the one getting odd sideways glances from the passersby as she is sketching a texture found in a corner crevasse, taking a picture of a pattern on a doorknob, or stopping in the middle of the street to pick up a fallen leaf with a unique shape.  But this is her to the core, always observing, always appreciating, always being inspired.  People who meet Elizabeth instantly feel connected to her as if they have found a long lost friend they didn’t realize they had.  She is supportive and encouraging those around her, and provided the “you can do it” to make this page a reality.   Did I mention she’s beautiful?  Her favorites: onions, sushi, tarmasalata, fresh salad, hot chocolate, bacon, Indian food, and sour Flemish reds.

Tikaani

IMG_3436.JPG

Sweet, hairy, eccentric – Tikaani Dog is the white fluff with the stuff.  He’s an American Eskmio Dog with a no-care sense of chill.   Want to pet him?  Maybe he’ll be interested, but maybe sniffing the fence is more exciting.  You’re in his world on his time, so deal with it.  He has a super power that can turn any black outfit white, and you’ll undoubtedly take some of him with you wherever you go.  There is currently Tikaani hair floating around on 3 separate continents.  His favorites: bacon treats, that smell on the telephone pole, snow, carrots, and lettuce. Yes, lettuce.

Ruby

Loving, cuddly, playful – Ruby is like our own relationship made furry flesh.  She loves to cuddle, loves company, and unlike most cats she will jump on your lap and say hi the first time you see her.  If there are typos found on this site, it is probably because she is climbing up my face for attention as I’m typing.  She will loudly announce her presence and very vocally insist time to give her attention.  The good news?  Pets and cuddles make her a very happy kitty.  The bad news?  She drools when she’s happy.  Her favorites: boxes she can sit in, drinking water out of your glass when you aren't looking, letting us know we are bad at catching mice, and lots and lots of attention.
